Arizona is Hiring a Program Manager, Honors Experience Near Tucson, AZ

Supervision and Advising

  • Directly supervise full time and graduate staff. Co-manage building community of 1000 residents, 26 Resident Assistants (including Lead RAs), and Office Assistant(s)
  • Facilitate individual one-on-one meetings to engage in ongoing mentorship and supervisee development and evaluation
  • Work with Community Director(s) (CDs) to plan weekly staff meetings to review departmental notices, student and facilities updates, and ongoing training; attend as needed
  • Support student and professional staff selection and training processes
  • Alongside CDs, oversee residential curriculum (Wildcat Living) visioning and implementation while supporting the Honors College curriculum and vision
  • Support the student voice by maintaining a relationship with the Residence Hall Association and the National Residence Hall Honorary
  • Support the advisors of Honors Village Hall Council and student socialevents and initiatives

Operations and Partnerships

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Housing & Residential Life and American Campus Communities (ACC), Honors College, the ‘85 North Dining Hall, and the student services located in the North District of campus
  • Establish and maintain partnerships to support the success of the Honors Village
  • Perform and/or supervise a variety of administrative duties including, but not limited to, key reports, check-in/out procedures, room/apartment transfers, occupancy management, timekeeping for staff, purchasing, payroll, maintenance requests
  • Manage assigned Hall account funds, including Operations, Programming, and Staff Development
  • Meet regularly with ACC General Manager to ensure a high-quality building operation and condition
  • Oversee and facilitate halldamage assessment charges with Housing team in conjunction with ACC

Student Behavioral Education & Crisis Management

  • Serve on campus-wide “Manager on-Duty” rotation acting as a resource to Community Director staff and contact to Director of Residential Education and Dean of Students staff on-call
  • Provide crisis intervention and serve as resource/referral agent to residents and staff in need
  • May serve as conduct/appeal hearing officer and facilitate meetings to promote opportunities for student accountability and reflection as needed

Other Responsibilities:

  • Attend departmental meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities
  • Serve on department committees and represent Housing & Residential Life to university committees as assigned
  • Assist with residence hall opening and closing; lead these processes for Honors Village dorm
  • Work with Housing & Residential Life Marketing and Honors College to help promote the Honors Village
  • May include management of summer programs and housing
  • Manage coverage during Winter Closure
  • Perform related duties asassigned or required to meet Housing & Residential Life and Universitygoals and objectives

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with Honors students and/or W. A. Franke Honors College
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Knowledge and understanding of diversity and an ability to work with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to perform assessment and evaluation of residence life services and programs
  • Knowledge of personnel management, including the selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of professional and paraprofessional staff
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and personal communication, writing, public speaking and presenting
  • Knowledge of student affairs and student development theory
  • Occupancy management and budgeting experience
