Arizona is Hiring a Crisis Behavioral Health Coordinator II Near Tucson, AZ
Serve as a bridge to appropriate community resources; facilitate access and communication when multiple services are involved; monitor and ensure appropriate services are being delivered when appropriate
Assist the Crisis System Manager to ensure a supportive experience for students following a mental health crisis including referrals to a higher level of care, continued monitoring of progress following a crisis, and follow up with students returning to the university who have previously withdrawn for mental health reasons
Provide coaching and skills training to students on self-advocacy, navigating health insurance, and connecting with mental health services
Develop, monitor, and update comprehensive CAPS Care Plans including mental health, social and educational supports and services
Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of community resources
Coordinate patient discharge from inpatient psychiatric hospitalization by relaying CAPS clinical recommendations for services, coordination with Dean of Students when appropriate, and ensuring that students are connected with services upon discharge
Coordinate communication with internal and external stakeholders including CAPS staff, Campus Health Service (CHS) medical team, the Dean of Students Office, Housing and Residential Life, faculty, families, local hospitals, Pima County Crisis System partners, community mental health clinics, and behavioral health and psychiatry providers to ensure continuity of care following a crisis
Monitor and coordinate care for students with complex mental health and psychosocial needs to ensure clear provider to provider communication and to prevent duplication of services
Provide students with information about specialty CAPS/CHS services including trans health, LGBTQ services, and women’s health care needs
Support students in getting their basic needs met through connection to on and off campus resources, including helping students apply for AHCCCS
Screen for suicidality and other risk as indicated
This individual works cooperatively as part of a multidisciplinary campus-based medical and mental health team, assists in crisis follow up, and clinical care coordination
Assists in the review of client charts when appointments are cancelled by clinic due to unexpected provider absence, to assess risk and determine need for follow-up for a counseling provider
Assists in review of after-hours crisis call documentation to assess risk and determine need for follow-up by a counseling provider
Oversees the running of multiple weekly reports
Participates in campus outreach, prevention, and psycho-educational activities
Utilizes relevant information technology
Provides all services in a manner which is professional, culturally sensitive, and respectful of differences

Knowledge and Skills Required:
Excellent grasp of referral processes and procedures
Experience working with high-risk clients
Experience with crisis assessment and case management
Appropriate interpersonal skills to provide high quality care assistance to University of Arizona student
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and comfort with utilizing other relevant software
Familiar with local resources and comfort seeking resources and building professional referral pipeline relationships
Demonstrated sensitivity to a wide range of personal diversity and multicultural issues
