Arizona is Hiring a Behavioral Health Coordinator I Near Tucson, AZ

  • Liaise between providers andspecialty psychiatrists by collecting demographic data from providers who callinto the APAL line, and connecting them to the correct specialized psychiatrist.
  • Support with creating anddisseminating reports which allows the program to review trends and implementquality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in outreach effortsand network with relevant providers to bring awareness of services andtrainings.
  • Provide callers with appropriatecommunity resources, as requested, to assist them with connecting theirpatients with services needed.
  • Monitor and update comprehensivestatewide community resources, supports and services, as well as website anddatabase.
  • Coordinate communication withinternal and external stakeholders, including program psychiatrists, providers,and all APAL staff.
  • Maintain accurate and updated callrecords, documenting demographic information as provided by the medicalprovider.
  • Provide email follow up to theprovider with a summary of the call information and resources as discussed withthe specialized psychiatrist.
  • Assist with development ofquarterly newsletter.
  • Attend meetings as scheduled byAPAL Director or designee.
  • Participate in quality improvementinitiatives to enhance provider satisfaction.
  • Provide feedback on systeminefficiencies and suggest improvements in patient care processes.
  • Support the preparation ofmarketing materials for conferences and outreach efforts, reviewing marketingmaterials for accuracy and consistency, and preparing presentation slides andother training materials with guidance from Program Leadership.
  • Research geographic areas fornetworking opportunities. Travel may be required on a quarterly basis.
  • Participate in advocacy efforts byattending meetings, networking events, and conferences with other providers andcivil servants, including medical societies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to travel to different areas of Arizona for networking and advocacy on a quarterly basis.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of and skilled with using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Compassionate and empathetic attitude.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare systems, and community resources.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team remotely.
  • Professional and approachable.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different groups/individuals.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Able to "cold call" and speak to providers/staff.
  • Comfortable speaking to large groups.
