Learning and Community Initiatives
Leads the research and design of in-person, online, and hybrid learning opportunities related to Louis Carlos Bernal: Retrospectiva and Chicana Photographers LA for students of all ages.
Develops and works across teams and communities to design and plan campus and community programs that expand experiences with Louis Carlos Bernal: Retrospectiva and Chicana Photographers LA, including but not limited to workshops, seminars, tutorials, tours, screenings, performances, pop-ups, and other community development opportunities.
Coordinates and administers the meetings and activities with community advisory boards.
In consultation with the Curator of Interdisciplinary and Community Practices, suggests and initiates internal and external projects related to community growth, participation, and diversification.
Collaborates on strategies for marketing to and partnering with the campus and regional communities before and during the Louis Carlos Bernal: Retrospectiva and Chicana Photographers LA exhibitions.
Research and Evaluative Programs
Initiates and carries through an innovative research program that expands representation in and approaches to photographic education and local public histories.
Builds evaluative frameworks for learning and community initiatives, and supports the preparation of data for institutional reports and grants.
Assists the Principal Investigator (PI) in preparing grant proposals and cases for support for relevant projects that support CCP’s mission, core values, collections, and DEI initiatives.
General
Oversees all administrative tasks related to learning and community programs, including communications, coordination, paperwork, databases, and evaluations.
Supports institutional calendaring and departmental workflows.
Actively cultivates and maintains relationships, partnerships, and collaborations with regional communities and colleagues.
Implements best practices and trends in photographic education and collaborative partnerships. Maintains evolving knowledge of DEI research, practices, and legislation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Familiarity with critical pedagogies and photography;
Proficiency with evolving DEI best practices, legislation, resources and initiatives.
Strong interest in the arts and cultural sector;
Commitment to fostering a collaborative, communicative, innovative, and creative work environment.
