Arizona is Hiring a Community Outreach Professional I Near Tucson, AZ

All positions are expected tomeet the agency standards for attendance and punctuality, positive interactionswith others, effective work habits, knowledge and skills, judgment and ethics.The specific expectations and essential duties of this position include:
Data collection (60%)
Obtain informed consent from Spanish- and English-speaking parents/guardians and youth to enroll in the project.
Conduct data collection interviews with youth participants at intake and 6-months post-intake.
Maintain an 80% follow-up rate for completing 6-month follow-up interviews.
Outreach(20%)
Build and maintain positive relationships with project participants, collaborators, community resource providers and other stakeholders.
Identify and participate in outreach opportunities to promote the project and recruit new participants (e.g., tabling at community events, representing the project as a conference exhibitor, etc.).
Plan and host outreach and engagement events.
Respond to inquiries from prospective youth, caregivers, and families.
Assist with content creation and management of the project’s social media platforms.
Navigation(20%)
Orient new participants to available project services.
Serve as a liaison between participants and the project’s service providers.
Screen and refer youth, caregivers, and families to the project’s mental health providers.
Navigate participants to other community resources as needed through referral and warm handoffs.
Provide light case management as needed.
Otherexpectations and duties
Assist with preparation and facilitation of trainings.
Assist with translation of materials into Spanish language.
Support other project activities as needed.
Scheduling flexibility:

  • Some flexibility in scheduling isavailable to meet employee needs, as long as program needs are still beingadequately addressed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of techniques and principles of social science research.
  • Knowledge of local community supports and resources.
  • Competent in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Familiarity with LGBTQI communities.
