The next chief of the Division of Abdominal Transplant will have the opportunity to provide strategic leadership and direction for the growth of the division. They will set a clear vision and execute on this vision. This division chief will have the opportunity to advance the division through multidisciplinary clinical care, advanced and innovative surgical services, research, education, and service.
The chief will inspire, develop, and lead an accomplished team of faculty and mentor trainees, drive the development of clinical programs, and create accountability in the division. They are expected to exhibit leadership and consensus-building within and beyond the division. To elevate the division to the next level, this leader will be expected to strategically recruit and retain talented faculty to support clinical growth, expand the division’s research footprint, improve the national reputation of transplant surgery at UArizona and Banner Health, and ensure excellence in the education and training of medical students, residents, and fellows.
The Division of Abdominal Surgery is housed within the Department of Surgery. Faculty provide clinical services and mentor trainees at Banner – University Medical Center Tucson, Banner – University Medical Center South.
