SUMMARY

This position provides exceptional customer service while handling all admissions transactions. They will assist our guests with the many offerings to enhance and make the most of their Science Center visits. The Guest Sales and Services (GSS) Associate is the primary and initial interface of the Science Center and the first person to welcome our guests warmly and enthusiastically. The (GSS) Associate provides exceptional front-line customer service to Science Center guests at the admission counter. The GSS associate is the customer's first contact, whether interacting at the box office, responding to emails, answering phone calls, or facilitating events and groups. The GSS associate will also be the first source of general information to the Science Center guests regarding tickets, shows, and special events. A qualified candidate should demonstrate professionalism, politeness, energy, and a strong commitment to delivering exceptional guest service in Phoenix. The ideal candidate is driven to provide, from start to finish, a great guest experience while doing their part to ensure team sales goals are met or exceeded.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Demonstrate an outgoing and friendly demeanor at all times to guests of all ages.
• Success working within a team.

• Utilize all relevant sales techniques and tools at our Admissions Zone to drive profitable growth.

• Knowledge of all levels of membership the Science Center has to offer with benefits.
• To be sure we are offering our guests all that ASC has to offer, the GSS Associate must be familiar with and be able to enthusiastically explain all current attractions, including but not limited to:
• Current 5-story screen movies, planetarium shows, traveling exhibitions, daily demonstrations, Center-wide events, and all other Center galleries and offerings 
• Must be accurate and prompt in handling financial admission transactions, which include cash, checks, and credit card processing.

• Respond to guest needs immediately.

• The ability to work a flexible schedule that may include weekday and weekend shifts is required.
• Be flexible with scheduling during shift and perform duties of group greeter, Information Zone, Membership Zone, Concessions, ticket taker, bus crew, and events staff.
• When necessary, escalate issues through the appropriate channels to ensure a prompt and satisfactory resolution to the guest and the Science Center.

• Follow and improve upon customized steps of the sale.Consistently work toward an overall sales goal as directed by the supervisor.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A minimum of one year of excellent guest service and one year of cash handling is preferred. Arizona Science Center will provide on-the-job training.
