The Director of Executive Projects for Innovation will be responsible for planning and sponsoring strategic modernization and innovation initiatives across multiple work groups, with a focus on crafting a forward-thinking modernization vision for the station that integrates leading industry best practices. This pivotal role demands a deep understanding of industry performance and trends, as well as robust relationships with key external entities including national labs and major vendors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional strategic planning and project management skills, coupled with a proven ability to drive cross-functional collaboration and innovation in a dynamic environment.
A four year bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering or other direct job-related field from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years' progressively responsible experience in the nuclear or energy utility industry.
Five (5) years' experience in supervisory/management positions involving the planning, organizing, directing and evaluating of the work and performance of employees. In lieu of bachelor's degree, a combination of college coursework and progressively responsible experience in the nuclear or energy utility industry equaling 14 years is required.
Preferred Special Skills, Knowledge or Qualifications:
Project management experience.
Senior reactor operator knowledge (for Palo Verde positions only).
Nuclear requirement: Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member. Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to support a refueling or short-notice outage. This includes line roles and responsibilities as necessary to execute outage activities. These are a condition of employment at PVNGS.
1) Plans, evaluates and implements key projects and programs that align and support the overall business plan objectives and have station-wide impact.
2) Collaborates and partners with leaders and employees to ensure execution and implementation of projects and programs.
3) Establishes and develops policies, processes and procedures and anticipates impact.
4) Identifies organizational needs and recommends and implements solutions to overcome challenges.
5) Defines, implements and tracks key operating metrics to measure effectiveness of program and processes.
6) May prepare, recommend and participate in the development of operating budget. Monitors spending for adherence to budget. Plans, develops and makes recommendations to address variances.
Plant/Field Role:
This position requires work to be performed in the field and/or at the work site, due to the nature of work.
Location-Based Role:
This position requires employees to work at the (Location), with some flexibility. Flexibility will be determined with the hires employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's.
Flex Role:
This position is not required to be performed at a specific APS facility as long as adequate technology and a solid ergonomic set up are present. Pending agreement with leadership, employees hired into this role will be able to choose where they prefer to perform their work, but the ultimate decision is the company's. Employees will have two options to choose from:
Hybrid Role:
This position combines working in the office and at home, based on the needs of the business. The schedule will be determined with the hired employee and leadership, but the ultimate decision is the company's.
Any PVGS employee may be called upon for random Fitness For Duty Testing (FFD) during scheduled working hours. Employees must report to FFD at Palo Verde as soon as reasonably practicable, but no more than 120 minutes after being notified. Employees who are onsite when notified will have no more than 60 minutes to report after being notified.
