Arizona Eye Consultants was founded in 2001 by Dr. Sean McCafferty. We are Multi-specialty Ophthalmology/Optometry practice which includes eighteen providers. Our specialties include glaucoma, cataract, and pediatrics specialty contact lenses. We have over 100 employees and five locations in Tucson. Travel is required among all locations. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma; some college preferred.Experience within a professional environment with a strong customer focus.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Communication and Patient Care

1. Acquaints all new patients with office procedures to which they will be exposed.

2. Informs patients of the purpose of all tests personally performed and how the patient will be affected during the tests.

3. Obtains patient history to include chief complaint, history of present illness, past history (ocular and general), family history (ocular and general), and history of allergies and medications.

4. Performs accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks to include:

Job Specific Responsibilities

1. Establish rapport with patients through initial introduction
2. Explain treatment procedures and review applicable options including doctor recommendations for optimal visual outcome
3. Arrange and confirm all pre-certification requirements including insurance prior-authorizations, referrals, and medical clearances
4. Verify insurance information, accurately calculate, and collect all payments related to surgery including copays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket fees
5. Sets surgery date and schedules all pre- and post-operative appointments related to the surgery
6. Answer inbound and outbound phone calls with appropriate telephone etiquette
7. Reviews all pre-surgery processes including physician instructions
8. Prepares all patient surgery charts
9. Handle sensitive information in a confidential manner
10. Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
