Summary:

Manages the day-to-day operations and direct supervision of assigned activities within the Gift Shop departments. Oversee overall department and/or shift(s) as assigned. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or employee challenges, provides leadership to all Gift Shop team members.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Manage the process of interviewing and hiring all Gift Shop staff members
• Assist with training, developing, measuring performance, disciplining, and/or scheduling department staff, as assigned
• Assist with selecting, ordering and receiving of merchandise to be sold
• Responsible for ensuring merchandise stock levels are appropriately maintained to avoid any stock level irregularities
• Oversees product displays within stores and retail store windows
• Responsible for the gift shop’s interior and exterior design to showcase products
• Sell Gift Shop merchandise, including pre-packaged food and beverage (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic), cashiering accurately and efficiently
• Assist guests with any questions, concerns, or complaints, and documents issues as needed
• Obtain an assigned bank and ensure accuracy of contracted monies
• Maintain confidentiality of guest information and pertinent property data
• Remain knowledgeable at all times of all property features, services, and hours of operation
• Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
• Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of previous supervisory experience in a retail environment.
• Previous cash handling experience
• Ability to effectively communicate and lead in small groups, as well as on an individual-basis
• Previous experience using suggestive up-selling techniques in a retail environment preferred
• Ability to compute basic mathematical calculations quickly and accurately (add, subtract, multiply and divide numbers)
• Able to efficiently use computers and calculators
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal
• Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
• Verify right to work in the United States
