PURPOSE: Provide on-call support to members, when needed. Provide scheduled services for unstaffed openings to ensure continuity of services to Arion Care members. Provide services in compliance with all applicable regulations and policies. Payment is guaranteed for schedule, whether hours are worked or not. Administrative work may be assigned during on-call shift.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Satisfactory background check
• Able to acquire and maintain a DPS fingerprint clearance card
• At least 3 months experience aiding an individual to meet essential personal physical needs such as showering, bathing, toileting, eating and other activities of daily living
• Nursing experience or CNA license, preferred
• Ability to work flexible schedule and be available when called into work
• Typical schedule can be up to 3 shifts in a regular 12 hour day
• Reliable transportation is preferred
• Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish)

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Provide on-call support for unstaffed shift openings on a last minute, as needed basis, to ensure continuity of service to members.
• Travel to member's Locations could include all areas Arion serves.
• Work a flexible schedule and be available to work when needed
• Demonstrate respect and promote
• Promote the rights of people receiving support and contribute to an environment free of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
• Provide support in specific areas, as needed
• Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid when required and give appropriate attention to injury or illness
• Complete delegated tasks within scope
• General supervision for a member who cannot be safely left
• Maintain records and observations of member care, condition, progress, or concerns to report and discuss with supervisor and responsible person.
• Follow all company and Funding source policies and procedures including, but not

limited to:

1. Reporting to work on time as
2. Refraining from excessive

2. Obtaining prior approval for desired time
3. Maintain all records, logs, and other documentation as required by funding source and Company policy and procedure.
4. Act as an appropriate role
5. Ensure that a clean and safe environment free from abuse, intimidation and harassment is maintained.
6. Quickly and effectively respond to emergency situations such as fire, application of CPR and First Aid, and behavioral interventions.
7. Maintain all training and certifications as required by Funding source and/or Company policies and procedures.

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• CPR and First Aid
• Direct Care Worker (DCW) Fundamentals and Aging
• Slips Trips and Falls
• Cultural Competency
• Sign all related job descriptions including but not limited to RSP, ATC, Companion Care, IDLA
• Other training as required

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• May include the ability to physically assist people as needed including lifting up to 50 lbs and transferring.
• May require the ability to walk, kneel, stand, and bend in order to assist people with activities of daily living, hygiene, mobility and cleaning.
• Patience and the ability to exercise restraint and self-control in potentially challenging situations.
• Ability to quickly respond to health, safety, and emergency
