Boeing Test & Evaluation is seeking an Experienced Manufacturing Engineer - Systems & Test to support Test Labs in Tukwila, WA. A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. The Systems Lab Manufacturing Engineer (ME) within Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) that supports fabrication planning and installation by providing design review, manufacturing plan authorship, fabrication sourcing (inside and outside of Boeing), interface with procurement (including tracking), and support in the lab during the build/installation.
The primary focus of this position is the support of the Systems lab test design & fabrication efforts located in Tukwila, WA. These efforts represent a wide variety of research and production programs primary in support of Boeing Commercial airplanes (BCA).
Manufacturing Engineers are owners of the build plan and ensure compliance to design configuration, build plan, and process requirements, Manufacturing Engineering performs Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) analysis and develops an integrated build plan consisting of work instructions for assembly/fabrication, kitting, tooling, inspection requirements, and other outputs to endure fabrication meets design, test, and program requirements.
Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Participates on Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to integrate technical solutions across multiple disciplines
  • Develops and documents BT&E ME process and tools for Lab test programs, new job practices, techniques and standards
  • Develops, implements and maintains various manufacturing plans, Bill of Materials, work instructions and illustrations to define and document as-built configuration
  • Develops and plans manufacturing concepts and strategies to support business objectives
  • Leads integration of complex suppliers, processes, materials, data and technology to meet manufacturing and delivery requirements
  • Leads teams performing producibilty assessments of design concepts
  • Manage the program work statement making sure it meets the cost and schedules
  • Leads development of complex work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments
  • Lead and work with, test Project Management, Design Engineering, and Program IE to develop and maintain integrated build plan
  • Provide build plan and help develop schedule
  • Close coordination with Design engineers and fabrication personnel, Lead coordination with procurement/supplier management personnel across the Systems lab test organization
  • Works under minimal direction
  • Collaborate with Supplier Management to establish Lab test integration requirements and opportunities
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes , lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or Chemistry
  • 2 years of experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment
  • 2 years of experience leading or managing projects and/or teams
  • 2 years of experience in a Manufacturing Engineering role
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
  • 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of experience working in a lab test, flight test, or similar test environment
  • Experience in support of commercial and military customers.
  • Experience in Project management
  • Boeing BCA/BDS/BT&E Manufacturing Engineering experience in Systems Lab Test.
  • Experience in ME and processes across multiple engineering disciplines
  • Experience with PDM, CAPP, CMES, MESci, EPARTs, GOLDesp
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (level 2)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (level 3)
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master 3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation
standard.

Summary pay range Associate (level 2): $ 80,750 - $109,250
Summary pay range Experienced (level 3): $96,050-$129,950
