ARGLASS V-F1 LLC is Hiring a Packaging Lead Near Valdosta, GA

Performs any duties connected with the quality assurance end of the production machines or that are necessary to prepare, inspect, pack, scrap, palletize or otherwise dispose of, all material coming from the machine. This position will also be responsible to arrange material to be loaded into packaging machine. The position has the greatest impact to customers as they certify that the final product meets Arglass expectations.

Responsibilities:
  • Observes material coming to packaging equipment for all types of visual and physical defects such as, improper cure, binder distribution and color, registration, dirt, damage, and poor workmanship. Puts aside defective material for later disposition. Reports consistent defects to Shift Operations Manager.
  • Operates a variety of equipment associated with industrial glass manufacturing.
  • Arranges material to be loaded into packaging machine. Assures proper placement of product for a quality finished package.
  • Sets-up, adjusts, and changes machines for product runs, all settings, within parameters and necessary for quality package.
  • Loads bag making poly, strapping, or stretch wrap film in preparation for or during product run.
  • Performs re-bag and rework as needed. Removes scrap from area around machine. Removes bag, strips off facing, and processes scrap and trash as directed using baler or blow wool machine.
  • Assist other members of the crew in starting up the machine, changing machine over from one product to another, and in shutting down and cleaning the machine.
  • Assists other crewmembers during emergencies such as fires, jams, wraps, etc.
  • Remains on assigned job until relieved, and as required, assists or relieves other members of the crew.
  • Monitors wind-up for winding and securement problems. Opens and closes wind-up as needed to clear problems.
  • As directed, instructs new or lesser experienced employees on the job.
  • Performs clerical duties necessary to maintain proper records relative to the work performed.
  • Performs other related essential functions as directed, including duties of other classifications.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment consistent with Arglass policies and procedures while striving for zero accidents.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship within functional area and with other departments ensuring effective and timely communication.
  • Partner with other department to resolve issue and create new solutions
  • Maintain administrative records and activities
  • Control cost and remain on budget
  • Train and develop other personnel
  • Help create a dynamic, results-oriented and fulfilling company culture based on teamwork
  • Promote Arglass’ culture of Flexibility, Efficiency and Sustainability in all areas of the company
Requirements: Education, Skills & Certifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in similar position
