We are looking for a Packaging Group Leader who is responsible for leading packaging operations in accordance with customer specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Other Duties may be assigned. - Prepare machines, tanks, lines, and pumps for use in the morning
- Coordinate resources for multiple packaging lines.
- Monitor lines for any problems that may arise and take the necessary steps to get them resolved
- Assists in printing production sheets for the lines
- When necessary, prints labels for the production lines
- Verifies final finished goods count, by lot #
- Follows up to make sure all items have been counted, labeled, de-staged and properly wrapped before they are returned to stock
- Ensures that all production line workers are properly attired with the necessary PPE
- Conducts housekeeping checks throughout plant
- After receiving housekeeping inspection report, all issues are addressed and corrected
- Maintains line production tracking board
- Troubleshoots and repairs minor mechanical issues
- Prepares lines set up for the following production run
- Assigns job responsibilities to the workers as work flow shifts
- Fills various containers with products
- Labels containers
- Boxes, seals, and palletizes products
- Assists in reading, interpreting, and following package sheet instructions.
- Assists in recording information regarding raw material usage and finished products on packaging sheets and pallet summaries
- Assures equipment is cleaned out properly
- Disposes of waste materials properly
- Drives Forklift

6. Education and/or Experience High School Diploma or GED. Georgia Work Ready test required. Minimum Scores: Graphic Literacy: 4; Workplace Documents: 4 ; Workplace Observations: 3
Minimum of two to three years of experience desired.
7. Language Skills Ability to read, analyze, and interpret packaging sheets and MSDSs. Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and visitors.
8. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to interpret bar graphs. Ability to interpret scales.
