ARES is seeking a Safety Manager to provide safety oversight and instruction in support of U.S. Space Force launch range activities. The position is stationed at Patrick Space Force Base in FL, and will lead safety and health related work assignments for a team of engineers, software developers, and IT staff.
These duties include creating and updating job hazard analyses, performing routine workplace safety inspections, attending safety meetings, assisting in DoD-specific safety training for employees, supporting the creation of required safety and health programs, reporting and investigating mishaps, inputting and updating safety data sheets, and other duties as assigned.
As technical expert with complete latitude in day-to-day decision-making, responsible for overseeing development activities are compliant with Operational Safety , and the LTRS System Safety Management Plan.
Coordinates with the Logistics Team to develop product support element 2 and design interface for all modifications. Participates and coordinates with Government and contractor representatives from the PMO in potential site location evaluations.
Working with the Test Teams on T&E processes to ensure consistency with range safety on development activities.
Conducts a safety review board as part of the testing phase of all development activities. As part of the anomaly process, participate in anomaly reporting that includes safety issues. Support Government IV&V activities for safety related LTRS systems and subsystems.
