AREAS USA is Hiring a Payroll Clerk (Temporary) Near MIAMI, FL

Title: Payroll Clerk

Reports To: Director, Payroll

Department: Human Resources

Status: Non-Exempt

Date: May 2024

Broad Functions: The Payroll Clerk performs tasks to establish and maintain the associate payroll & Benefits records for Miami Dade County’s Labor Compliance Program. Enter and maintain time and attendance records, entering new hires, posting changes and processing terminations in LCP Tracker. Assists with additional tasks as requested by Supervisor.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Ensures the integrity of the payroll data including data related to new hires, terminations, transfers and rate changes.

2. Accurately input payroll data, including employee hours, wages, deductions into the LCP Tracker system.

3. Review and verify data for accuracy and completeness, ensuring adherence to the compliance of the Miami Dade County Code 2-8.9, Living Wage for County Service Contracts.

4. Resolve any discrepancies or issues in payroll data promptly and effectively.

5. Maintain confidentiality of all payroll information and adhere to data protection regulations.

6. Generate payroll reports and assist in payroll auditing processes as needed.

7. Collaborate with the payroll team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

8. Assist in special projects as assigned by management.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Associate degree preferred or High School Diploma with proven experience in payroll data entry or a similar role, preferably using LCP Tracker or similar payroll software.

2. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to maintain focus in a fast-paced environment.

3. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and experience with payroll databases or systems.

5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.

6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

7. High level of integrity and ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee operates in an office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This is largely a sedentary role and requires color determination vision (no color blindness) and to sit for extended periods of time in front of the computer.

This position would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds. Some bending and/or lifting of supplies and mail in/out materials from time to time may be required.
