SUMMARY

The Payroll Clerk is responsible for coordinating, administering, and reconciling the weekly payroll; determining time worked, calculating payroll, and maintaining the payroll database. Seeking someone with a data entry background that is comfortable with manual data entry and a team player looking to work with a great team in a rapidly growing company.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage payroll process and perform accounting-related tasks
  • Collect payroll data and accurately enter it into a software program
  • Contact various department supervisors for any missed times.
  • Process weekly transfer of payroll data to Paycom/Paylocity.
  • Analyze, prepare, and input payroll data. Typically uses an automated system to produce accurate and timely payroll and ensure compliance with all applicable state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Prepares weekly and monthly (gross payroll, hours worked, vacation accrual, tax deductions, benefit deductions, etc.) for management.
  • Perform various journal entries, and account reconciliations, and provides General Ledger support
  • Facilitate management and employee understanding of payroll procedures
  • Must remain current on all Payroll systems to achieve alignment with HR benefits and other related areas to ensure effective accounting support
  • Responsible for other duties assigned by management.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School/GED
  • Experience with Data Entry a plus
  • Attention to detail and Mathematical skills required
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws
  • Problem resolution, Process Improvement, and Customer service skills required
  • Other duties as necessary.


WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following:

  • Hours of operation are typically 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., M-F
  • 40-hour workweek
  • Primarily sedentary or working at a desk
  • Occasionally lift and move 10 -25 pounds
  • Proficient literacy
  • The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, or reach with hands and arms
