Explore the potential of your pharmacy experience in an elevated role.We are recruiting a Shipping Technician to join our team of health care professionals. As a Shipping Technician, you will be responsible for packing and shipping medication orders as scheduled and in accordance with established procedures, while under supervision. Additionally, the Shipping Technician assists with dispensing medication, maintaining dispensing and shipping supplies, medication inventory, and performs assigned tasks for continued adherence to compliance and regulatory standards.Job type: FTPay range: $21.99-$27.50 hourly, depending on experience.Benefits:

Position responsibilities:
    1. Responsible for all dispensing, packing, and shipping duties.
      1. Prints patient specific medication labels and related patient drug information sheets.
      2. Accurately picks, labels, and dispenses medication, administration supplies, and required materials for pharmacist review and quality assurance verification.
        1. Ensures the correct drug, correct dose, and correct patient match both the drug product and the drug label.
        2. Ensures proper cold-chain of refrigerated items.
      3. Prepares packages for shipment with designated packing materials in accordance with established standards to preserve medication integrity.
      4. Shipping includes sending prepared medication orders verified by a pharmacist to the patient/provider while appropriately utilizing drug manufacturer storage and accreditation standard guidelines.
        1. Accurately prepares and affixes correct shipping label to each package.
        2. Documents all order-related updates and tracking information into patient profiles utilizing the pharmacy’s documentation tools.
        3. Performs daily queue checks to ensure all orders are shipped as promised.
        4. Communicates end of day pick-ups with Operations staff.
        5. Communicates holiday hours and closures to all couriers.
      5. Correctly stages medication orders at all times, according to ship date and medication-specific storage and handling requirements.
      6. When handling drugs designated as “hazardous,” adheres to established proper handling techniques.
    2. Assists with company inventory processes as directed.
    3. Ensures adherence to accreditation standards/objectives.
    4. Assists with daily and weekly cleaning of pharmacy workspace and equipment.
    5. Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
    6. Conducts daily temperature monitoring.
    7. Replenishes gel packs, coolers, and other shipping supplies into appropriate storage area(s).
    8. Ensures entry of needed data points for reporting purposes.
    9. Assists elsewhere in the pharmacy, when possible.
    10. Maintains active Oregon license. Informs supervisor within 1 business day (and Oregon Board of Pharmacy within 10 days) of any arrests, convictions, suspected or known violations of law, or any other conduct that might affect or has affected license status. Reports to Oregon Board of Pharmacy within 15 days any changes to name, residence address, or employment.
    11. Actively participates and provides support as needed to leadership and quality program staff to ensure activities related to the company’s quality management program and quality improvement activities maintain priority focus and are effectively executed. This may include but is not limited to activities that promote objective and systematic measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of services and defined Quality Improvement Projects (QIPs) that may result from such efforts.
    12. Complies with the company’s Human Resources policies, Employee Handbook, Code of Conduct, and all department policies and procedures, including protecting confidential company, employee, and customer information; attending work punctually and regularly; and adhering to good safety practices in all activities.
    13. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required skills:
  1. Education and experience
  1. Required:
      1. High school diploma or GED.
      2. Active Oregon Pharmacy Technician License. A Certified Oregon Pharmacy Technician License will be required prior to expiration of existing Oregon license or as required by the Oregon board of Pharmacy.
  2. Preferred:
      1. Experience in pharmacy practice or healthcare setting preferred.

    • Must have excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Must be able to express oneself, detect, perceive, observe, and assess information exchanged in a variety of communication methods.
    • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency with computer applications.
    • Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  2. Working conditions
    • Work is performed in a pharmacy environment, with extensive keyboard and computer work. Work also involves frequent moving of packaging, boxes, and items from different areas within the warehouse. Packaging supplies weighing 40 pounds are regularly moved from the freezer to workstations.
    • Business needs may occasionally require work in excess of 40 hours per week, including work outside of the standard work week.

    • Internally with Ardon employees across multiple departments.
    • Externally with clients and vendors.
