Job Summary

Primary Function: Under the direction of the Pastor or other assigned manager is responsible for performing janitorial services and light maintenance of parish facilities. Assumption-Mattese is seeking an individual to clean on a full-time basis.

Job Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the Church’s spiritual and pastoral mission.
• Shall abide by Catholic principles in the employee's professional and private life and shall govern his/her professional and private life in accordance with Catholic morals and principals.
• Develop/Follow a cleaning schedule to assure the facilities are clean and maintained in an orderly fashion.
• Perform general custodial duties to include cleaning and light maintenance of the facilities.
• Assist employee and volunteers maintaining grounds on an “as needed” basis.
• Perform scheduled monthly, semi-annual, or annual janitorial duties, ie, trash control, sweeping and mopping, carpet vacuuming, floor waxing, painting, window washing, carpet cleaning, etc. as directed and in accordance with the parish maintenance schedule.
• Provide set-up (tables, chairs, decorations) and cleaning of facilities for all activities as directed.
• Maintain a supply of cleaning supplies and equipment; properly account for materials and equipment, stock janitorial supply cabinets/closets.
• Maintain security of buildings, equipment, and tools.
• Comply with safety regulations as required; maintain a safe working environment.

• Effective communications skills, verbal and written; excellent human relations and interpersonal skills.
• Exercise courtesy to fellow employees, parishioners and the public.
• Must be a self-starter; well organized; perform multiple tasks simultaneously and work with a sense of urgency.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment; punctuality is a must; ability to travel locally as required; weekend and overtime work may be required.
• Working familiarity with computer and communications technology
• Ability to successfully pass a background check and meet requirements of Child Protection Program.
• Possess a valid Missouri driver’s license.
• Be able to read directions and label safety warnings. Must be safety conscious.
• Knowledge, skills, and experience in handling janitorial equipment and maintenance tools
• Clean and neat personal appearance.
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in a commercial or private maintenance, janitorial or similar position
