Job purpose

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia (AoP) is seeking a dynamic, inspiring, and experienced professional to join our team as the Director of Project Management and Marketing. This pivotal role reports to the Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and will be tasked with aligning the AoP's strategic marketing initiatives with the core mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church. By collaborating with diverse stakeholders, clergy, and parish leaders, the Director will tailor initiatives to address local needs while amplifying the Church's message. Central to this role will be the continuous assessment of impact and refinement of strategies, leveraging data and insights to maximize community service while upholding Catholic values in every aspect of engagement and representation within broader spheres.

Duties and responsibilities

Project Management Aligned with the Church's Mission:

  • Lead, coordinate, and oversee multiple projects across different departments within the Archdiocese, ensuring alignment with the tenets and values of the Archbishop.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring adherence to deadlines, financial targets while prioritizing initiatives that serve the community in accordance with the Church's values and mission.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and deliverables.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and excellence within the project management team.

Faith-Centric Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive marketing strategies aligned with the Archdiocese's mission and goals.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and audience preferences.
  • Create compelling marketing campaigns, leveraging various channels such as digital, print, and social media.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent branding and messaging across all platforms that authentically represents the mission and values of the Church.
  • Measure and analyze the effectiveness of marketing efforts, adjusting strategies as needed.

Team Leadership & Faith Integration:

  • Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing project management and marketing team.
  • Provide guidance, support, and performance evaluations to team members.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and creativity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (8 years) in project management and marketing leadership roles, preferably in a non-profit or religious organization.
  • Strong alignment with and understanding of Catholic teachings, values, and the mission of the Church.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the mission of the Roman catholic Church and deep familiarity with archdiocesan and parish structures and a through understanding of Catholic parish life and ministry.
  • Strong project management skills with expertise in project planning, execution, and risk management.
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans across diverse channels.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with a passion for integrating faith into professional endeavors.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment while managing multiple priorities.

Working conditions

Some nights and weekends may be required for additional meetings.

Physical requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tool or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 25 lbs.
