General Labour - Packer
Department: Production
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Job Summary:
Join our team as a General Labour - Packer and contribute to the production of high-quality fresh produce. As a crucial member of our production team, you will ensure that our products meet food safety, quality, and customer specifications. Your role will involve packaging produce, conducting quality inspections, and maintaining a clean and efficient work environment. Shifts :

• Shift: 2nd 3:30 pm - 12:30 am Mon to Fri

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and grade fresh vegetables based on ripeness, size, and classification, and package them according to customer requirements.
• Conduct inspections for foreign objects, pests, or contamination in produce and packaging, and report any issues to supervisors.
• Handle produce with care to prevent damage or bruising, ensuring compliance with quality and food safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with the Production Supervisor regarding quality issues, shortages, or damages.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas and equipment, following SOPs and company policies.
• Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Health and Safety regulations, and food safety standards.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in packhouse operations is an asset, but not required.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, Health and Safety, and Food Safety is preferred.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Working Conditions:

• Flexible hours depending on business needs.
• Work environment is in a refrigerated warehouse with temperatures ranging from 45-55°F.
• Position involves standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds regularly, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
• Noise level may be loud due to packaging machinery and forklift truck operation.
