The Position

Arch Reinsurance Company: Underwriting Operations Manager- This candidate will develop strong partnerships and nurture a positive business relationship with underwriters to clearly understand their business processes. Candidate should look for ways to improve processes and maximize the benefits to the business and have a proven record providing direction, motivating, and growing employees to drive high levels of performance.

Job Responsibilities

As a Leader, you are respected for your technical expertise and ability to oversee programs and processes. You balance the needs of multiple stakeholders, making sound decisions using data, analysis, experience, and judgment, along with a risk mindset. Ultimately, you take ownership for key outcomes.

• Develop key relationships with underwriting to execute on the end-to-end underwriting processes.
• Manage a cross-regional team of Assistant Underwriters
• Mentor and collaborate with team members to further develop internal talent
• Work closely with underwriters and team members to determine client needs and provide solutions
• Administer guidelines and processes to ensure consistency, workload sharing, and adherence to SOX controls
• Communicate and collaborate across the organization to provide solutions and recommendations to achieve organizational success
• Liaise with our underwriting team to capture business within our front-end systems, including but not limited to entering reinsurance contract details, payment information, and key correspondence, as well as processing endorsements and/or related documents
• Support the generation and issuance of accurate documentation as required by underwriting, legal, and audit
• Ensure that all active brokers, contacts, and contracts are maintained and updated within our systems
• Work with our finance and claims teams to ensure that premiums, claims, and other related transactions are entered correctly and addressed on time
• Contribute to system creation, enhancements, and testing
• Manage and lead projects across underwriting, actuarial, IT, and marketing disciplines
• Work closely with colleagues from IT and Data Analytics teams
• Assist with ad hoc reporting, projects, and research work
• Ensure underwriting data is captured accurately

Required Skills/Experience

• A minimum of five years of insurance/underwriting experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance
• Strong analytical and organizational skills are required
• Must have excellent communication, organization, problem solving and leadership skills
• High level/advanced proficiency of Microsoft Office products including Excel and Power Point

• Bachelor's degree
