Responsibilities

Arcfield is seeking a requirements-focused Space Systems Engineer to provide Systems Engineering Technical Advisor (SETA) support to a DoD customer in the Space Remote Sensing Domain.

The GREY HAVEN program is responsible for coordinating and supporting end-to-end system integration and requirements closure in the remote sensing domain using Digital Engineering techniques; supporting enterprise and system level requirements for future systems; independent verification, validation and test in support of delivered system capabilities and mission closure, participation in readiness events in support of enterprise, system and acquisition-level ground milestones; leading and supporting project planning; assessing schedule and risk; generating and presenting engineering briefings; and interfacing with numerous stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Leading and executing process improvement activities to achieve Digital Engineering advancement goals
• Leading teams and planning activities to decompose Enterprise capabilities into System level requirements
• Directly interfacing with government customers while providing outstanding customer service
• Collaborating with other engineers to develop end-to-end models of complex systems to include architecture and behavior of the system using Systems Modeling Language (SysML) and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
• Writing text-based and model-based requirements at multiple levels of abstraction, to include Enterprise, System-of-Systems, System, and sub-system levels using both functional decomposition and object-oriented approaches
• Developing verification methods and support the closure of requirements based on evidence gained through test, analysis, inspection, or demonstration events
• Managing requirements documents and maintaining a fully traceable baseline between allocated, parent, and child requirements
• Reviewing and assessing impacts for Requests for Change/Change Requests (RFCs) submitted to an Engineering Review Board
• Drafting and coordinating change packages for submission to an Engineering Review Board
• Collaborating with the Configuration Manager (CM) to identify and establish Configuration Items
• Supporting system integration and system requirements closure initiatives for future systems through the conduct of Systems Engineering Lifecycle Readiness Reviews and System Engineering Technical Reviews
• Supporting Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Engineering working groups that will review and assess the maturity of engineering configuration items
• Assessing Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and Interface Requirements for gaps

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• Must possess and be able to maintain an active TS/SCI Security Clearance with Poly
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or in related technical or scientific fields such as operations research, engineering management, or related STEM degree program
• Required experience: 12-15 years with BS or 10-12 years with MS or 8-10 years with PhD
• Working knowledge of spacecraft operations and related ground systems
• Proven core systems engineering process knowledge
• Proven communication skills

Desired qualifications:

• Experience with Defense Acquisition System
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
• Certified in one or more of the following: INCOSE, OMG Model User, Project Management
