Responsibilities:

This position is contingent on winning the FALSTAFF opportunity.

Considered a recognized authority within the company. Works on unusually complex technical problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative. Determines and pursues courses of action necessary to obtain desired results. Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 10 - 12 yrs of experience or a Master's with 8 - 10 yrs of experience. Synthesizes customer contractual needs, requirements, and technical, schedule and cost constraints into solutions for integrating, testing, evaluating, and transitioning systems into operations to deliver enterprise capabilities. Plans and arranges the labor, schedules, and resources required for integrating, testing, evaluating and transitioning systems. Establishes standards, practices, and procedures for integrating, testing, evaluating and transitioning systems and enterprise capabilities, and coordinates with stakeholders. Evaluates enterprise capabilities, architectures, system design concepts, requirements, risks and opportunities, and processes for integration, test, evaluation and transition impacts. Designs, develops, and implements test and evaluation strategies, plans and methods to assure reliability of systems in conjunction with system specifications and defined enterprise capabilities, and integrates system and enterprise elements together so they work as a whole. Reviews, evaluates and derives requirements for testability. Ensures systems and enterprise capabilities comply with requirements and standards through formal verification methods. Generates system requirement and enterprise capability verification approaches and customer acceptance criteria. Participates in reviews of systems and elements under development to ensure traceability of requirements compliance through verification and validation. Develops and directs preparation for and execution of comprehensive test & evaluation plans, procedures and schedules which verify and validate enterprise capabilities, system requirements, performance and operability. Coordinates system integration, test, evaluation and transition activities with other organizations. Conducts readiness for system integration, test, evaluation and transition activities. Compiles data and defines changes required in testing configurations, testing procedures, testing processes, or new testing requirements. Implements testing processes and ensures all test activities follow those processes. Produces reports on each test activity and tracks test metrics. Performs analysis and evaluations of systems under test. Assesses performance using evaluation criteria and technical performance measures. Performs analysis of test results and prepares comprehensive system evaluation reports and risk assessments. Evaluates discrepancy reports and performs integration regression testing to verify/validate incorporated fixes affecting systems and enterprise capabilities. Provides direct, interfacing support to the customer for system integration, test, evaluation and transition activities. Monitors for continual process improvement and lessons learned, and reports to management periodically.

Program Description

This program provides SETA (Systems Engineering Technical Advisor) & SE&I (Systems Engineering & Integration) services to an IC customer with a focus on assured space communications and supporting IT infrastructure. This is primarily broken into three major divisions including systems engineering, acquisition and mission operations. Systems engineering support focuses on the end-to-end processes for managing programs, including Readiness, Configuration Management, integrated master schedule, systems analysis, future studies and innovations. Acquisition support is focused on helping government COTRs in all aspects of managing development contracts to deliver capabilities that meet requirements. Mission operations roles include the support to integrating new capabilities into operations and leading anomalies response teams when issues arise.

Specific Opportunity Description

This position is contingent on winning the FALSTAFF opportunity. This position is on the E-program and is primarily focused on systems level testing of software systems. This systems engineering, test and integration position is responsible for managing the system level testing program for a specific mission area. This involves coordinating with all the stakeholders to understand the build plans for each segment, establishing system level test plans to focus on significant changes and verifying system function prior to transition to operations. During testing, this position plays an integral role as both test director and test conductor. Support for operational testing is an important role requiring extensive coordination with users, development contractors, and government customers. This involves regular communications and working with Operations to coordinate testing and the final delivery of new capabilities to fulfill user requirements. Individuals will become familiar with various systems architectures and eventually act as subject matter experts in advising the government clients on integration and testing related decisions.

This position is based in Chantilly, VA, but will include significant local travel to Springfield, VA.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Must possess and be able to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly
  • Relevant Experience: 10 to 12 years with BS or 8 to 10 years with MS or 5 to 7 years with a PhD.
  • Technical BS in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical degree. 5 years of relevant experience in an RF space communications development/acquisition program or systems engineering functional experience can be substituted.
  • Experience in integration and testing of systems involving multiple segments.
  • The ability to work well within a team of engineers

Desired:

  • 5 years of experience with Commercial/Government test and integration of satellite/ground systems or segment hardware/software
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Prior experience as a SETA with NUO IC agency customer working with testing, developing system test plans, verifying requirements, and other related readiness processes.
  • Prior experience with RF based satellite communications.
  • Prior experience with digital signal processing.
  • Prior agile development experience.
