Arcfield is Hiring a Director- Payroll Operations -5137 Near Chantilly, VA

Responsibilities

Arcfield is looking for an experienced, hands-on, Director - Deltek Costpoint Payroll and T&E to be a vital leader in our rapidly growing company. You will be responsible for establishing and overseeing industry-best processes utilizing Deltek Costpoint Payroll and T&E while integrating the payroll functions of newly-acquired businesses. You will oversee, lead and develop the team that is responsible for day-to-day payroll administration and all phases of the timekeeping and payroll processing cycle to ensure accurate and timely payment to employees and payroll tax authorities.

This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and meticulous attention to detail, along with the ability to work collaboratively with Human Resources and Benefits to successfully on-board new employees and validate that changes are processed accurately and timely through system integrations.

This position reports directly to the VP, Corporate Controller, located in Chantilly VA, with flexibility for Onsite/offsite work place.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day payroll processing and analysis working in Deltek Costpoint & T&E.
  • Review the changes and update Deltek Costpoint and T&E for new hires, employee status changes, pay rates, taxes, and benefits.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
  • Facilitate audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Identify and recommend updates to payroll processing systems and procedures.
  • Reconcile semi-monthly payroll taxes, review quarterly and periodic state tax payments and work with tax vendors to resolve issues.
  • Assist the accounting team with all account reconciliations related to accrued payroll-related liabilities.
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local legal payroll requirements and have the tools necessary to monitor and advise management of any required changes.
  • Comply with and enforce all legal Company policies, procedures and instructions.
  • As the Payroll Function grows, perform supervisory duties, including interviewing and recommending the hiring of new staff members; providing or arranging for training for staff; evaluating staff performance; and recommending personnel actions to ensure adequate and competent staffing.
  • Ad hoc reporting as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • BS 16-18, MS 14 , PhD 10
  • 10 years of Deltek Costpoint Payroll and T&E end-to-end experience
  • Extensive experience with the payroll function including preparation, balancing, internal control, and payroll taxes.
  • Experience in a government contracting environment.

  • Ability to plan, organize, assign, prioritize, evaluate, and supervise the work of subordinate employees performing the same or similar work.
  • Well organized, reliable, and highly motivated with ability to handle multiple projects and produce timely, high-quality work.
  • Outstanding work ethic and commitment to organizational success.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient with payroll software.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).

Desired:

  • Experience working with Ceridian for outsourcing tax filings and payments.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or a related field, or equivalent related experience.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) a plus.
  • Advanced skills across MS Office Suite.
  • A hands-on and can do attitude that thrives in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to work independently, plan, execute, and deliver in a timely manner, including prioritizing and tracking schedules, while working on multiple projects/initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Cognos and Workday preferred.
  • Experience working in FARs and DFARs regulated environments.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or equivalent work experience

This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
