Arcetyp LLC is Hiring a MFLC Child Counselor in Alaska Near Fairbanks, AK

Arcetyp LLC is a growing small business that provides a broad range of consulting services to US Federal Government, US Military, and Commercial clients. Services include Management & IT Consulting, Program & Project Management, and Professional & Admin Services. We are recruiting to fill a position to lead business development activities for a small government contracting firm focused on IT Services and Cyber Security for clients in Civil and DoD markets.

Arcetyp LLC is looking for a MFLC Child Counselor for the Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) Program at Eielson Air Force Base, Eielson, AK (near the North Pole). We also have other locations at: Fort Greely, (near Delta Junction AK), Fort Wainwright, (near Fairbanks, AK), and Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, (near Anchorage, AK).

This program was established to expand access to confidential, face-to-face counseling and reduce the barriers and stigma often associated with seeking counseling support. In 2007, the Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counselor

position was added to the MFLC Program to provide additional non-medical counseling opportunities to the military service members’ families by supporting their dependents within schools, child and youth development centers (CDCs), and child-oriented programs, they attend (e.g., summer camps).

The Child Development Center (CDC) counselor positions have the primary responsibility of providing the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) counseling services to children of all ages of military service members at Child Development Centers, Youth Centers, School Age Programs.

We are currently seeking qualified CHILD Counselor (CYB) to support the Military and Family Life Counseling (MFLC) program. Salary and leveling commensurate with experience.

LOCATIONS:Candidates for Alaska do not need to be local, as these candidates can be offered
travel support (lodging, car rental, daily per diem, etc) if they meet the travel criteria.
• Eielson AFB – North Pole, Alaska
• Ft Wainwright Army Base – Fairbanks, Alaska
• Ft Greely Army Base – Delta Junction, Alaska

RESPONSIBILITIES:Essential Job Functions:
MFLC CHILD counselors provide services to children of military service members to increase their ability to develop strong relationships, solve problems, and adequately express and manage their emotions. MFLC CHILD counselors are assigned to Child Developmental Centers (CDCs), Youth Centers and School Age Programs on installation. MFLC CHILD
counselors work closely with military branch points of contact (POCs) to ensure that program services are provided within the scope of the contract and meet the needs of the assigned installation. Essential duties, tasks, and responsibilities include, but are not limited, to:

• Working alongside and/or (in line of sight) with child/ren individually, in classroom settings, and in group activities throughout their daily settings.
• Providing brief, non-medical, solution focused counseling to children and families.
• Providing psycho-social (OSD-approved) lessons/groups aimed at targeting childrens' social-emotional development, relationship building, communication/social skills, deployment/reunion stressors, grief and loss, stress, conflict, life transitions and other issues that arise.
• Collaborating with CDC personnel, parents, and administrators in order to promote
the healthy development of children and youths’ social-emotional competencies and capacities.
• Interacting with children and parents during special events, such as field days, award luncheons, sports events, parent groups, and center activities.
• Conducting briefings and/or presentations, as requested to students, teachers/professionals and/or parents.
• Providing referral resources to participants who need a greater level of care or to those that are not eligible for the MFLC program.
• Providing outreach services to parents and the installation command staff.
• Submitting Activity forms daily, to show 8 hours of direct daily contact.
• Reporting time daily for employer and government.

QUALIFICATIONS:Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
• Working knowledge of psycho-social development of children.
• Ability to understand, apply, and maintain professional standards.
• Highly developed written, oral, and presentation communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Proficient in iPhone, iPad and other APPLE technology/products.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:• Licensure at the independent practice level (LCSW, LMFT, LPC LCPC, LMHC) in the State where position is located and where the services are rendered. (Alaska for these positions)
• Master’s degree from an accredited graduate program in a mental health-related field such as social work, psychology, marriage/family therapy, or counseling.
• Experience with children and youth and specialty in child and adolescent development/psychology.
• Fluency in the English language and valid driver's license.
• Ability to pass all background/suitability check.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:• MFLC experience.
• Prior military service/military family member and/or strong familiarity with the military culture.
• Physical ability to support youth activities, such as walking, running, bike riding, canoeing, and hiking, for selected assignments.
• Experience working with children in youth setting.
• Bilingual in Spanish
