Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional/adult rapport with each consumer to achieve a positive environment of mutual respect and regard.

• Under the direction of the Director of Day Habilitation & Recreation Program, assign staff and consumer activity involvement; provide leadership for all other areas of the Program.

• Arrange to cover all open staff hours using agency approved per diem list.

• Supervise program transportation arrangements/vehicle repairs, and provide transportation as needed.

• Oversee all consumer health and psychological appointments and ensure expedient quality care follow-up.

• Request assistance from the Program Support Services staff in the development and implementation of IHP’s, Behavior Plans, and medical assessments (physical, speech and occupational therapies) as needed.

• Submit all necessary records, progress reports, and other materials to the Director of Community Support Services and the Division of Developmental Disabilities.

• Maintain and monitor data collection as required by behavior recommendations/plans.

• Full financial responsibility (as delineated) of consumer funds, petty cash, and household accounts.

• Become aware and involve consumers in community affairs whenever possible and appropriate. Responsible for programmatic calendar consistent with consumer interests and community supports.

• Act as a liaison with the parents/guardians of the consumers in the program to assist them in coping with their family member’s mental developmental and related disabilities.

• Coordinate regular staff meetings to review programmatic issues, consumer progress, in-house training, and administrative and staff issues.

• Monitor medications administration system and maintain related documentation for all consumers for whom medications are prescribed. Maintain medications in a secured location.

• Responsible for training/re-training, supervising and evaluating all staff assigned to the program.

• Maintain program inventory within the facility. Maintain a safe environment. Ensure that facility cleaning needs are met. Complete routine reports of repairs needed.

• Participate in program evaluation and quality enhancement review.

• Follow all Arc/Morris and DDD policies, procedures, and guidelines.

• Cooperate with licensee and Division staff in any inspection or investigation.

• Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Community Support Services with regard to the administration and operation of the program

Qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Human Services Field and one year of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities or two years’ experience working with adults with developmental disabilities with a minimum of one-year supervisory experience.

• Within three months of employment, the successful completion of the following trainings: The Arc/Morris Orientation, Overview of Developmental Disabilities, Abuse and Neglect, First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, IHP, and Crisis Management.

• Valid driver’s license

Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
