Arc Herkimer is Hiring an Employment Services Specialist- STEPs Near Herkimer, NY

Opportunities for pay increase is based on education. Hours: Monday- Friday 8am- 4pm with flexibility. Must be able to flex around 2.5 hours each week to be able to assist with a supportive employment project. If you LOVE working with people, this job is for you! Make a positive impact in your community & others’ lives as an Employment Services Specialist with STEPs (ESS-STEPs).

Enjoy getting out & about with individuals in a variety of supported job sites throughout the area.
Empower individuals through work geared skill-building, including production, stocking, folding, cleaning, as well as helping to achieve personal goals.
Lead hands-on activities through classroom education and on the site job education.
Work together as a team to accomplish goals.
Provide encouragement and empowerment in those you assist.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Business or related course of study and one year of related experience,
or Associates degree program in Human Services, Business or related course of study and two years of related experience or High School diploma with three years of related experience.
Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred.
Experience in job placement and/or a broad knowledge of industrial and commercial work opportunities and or as a Vocational Counselor would be helpful.
An Agency approvable driver’s license is required. Must have a working vehicle and willingness to drive personal vehicle.
