Arbor Research is Hiring a Human Resources Administrator / Specialist (Hybrid) Near Ann Arbor, MI

Arbor Research Collaborative for Health seeks a recent graduate with Human Resources and/or administrative assistant experience to join our HR team. This position will assist a variety of different roles including our recruiting & onboarding initiatives, benefit administration, coordinating staff events, staff recognition, payroll processing and staff departure processes. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be able to maintain a working knowledge of policies and also contribute to the ongoing improvement of said policies.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with recruiting activities such as posting new positions, scheduling interviews, and maintaining all recruitment related records including Affirmative Action Plan applicant data
  • Assist with benefit administration, including maintenance of communication pieces, maintenance of enrollments, responding to employee questions, and communicating with the benefit broker and vendors
  • Coordinate and execute staff morale events and meetings
  • Support the Human Resource Generalist in overseeing employee recognition practices
  • Responsible for data entry into Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and related spreadsheets; creation and upkeep of accurate and consistent employee records (electronic and paper files)
  • Assist with payroll processing
  • Assist with staff departure process
  • Serve as back-up for portions of new hire orientation
  • Assist with monitoring compliance posters; develop a general knowledge of employment law and how it applies to the organization
  • Maintain a working knowledge of policies to be able to contribute to ongoing improvement of policies
  • Provide general HR administrative assistance, including but not limited to updating and creating reports, facilitation of employee mailings and communication pieces

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to handle confidential information and data
  • A very high degree of accuracy and organization, attention to detail, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both formal and informal
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Human Resources and/ or Administrative Assistant experience
  • Experience with other Microsoft Office programs such as Visio and PowerPoint
  • Experience with a Human Resource Information System (HRIS), including report creation
