Arbor Biotechnologies is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. This individual will be involved in tasks related to everyday financial reporting and accounting operations, including preparing and processing necessary journal entries, monthly reconciliations, monthly/quarterly reports and analysis, as well as longer term projects. This role reports to the Accounting Senior Manager and will work cross-functionally with other departments along with Accounting/Finance. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, excellent communication and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, a demonstrated ability for self-motivated and independent project execution, and a strong desire to learn.

What you can expect:

  • Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close procedures to ensure accurate and timely completion across a number of general ledger accounts
  • Manage fixed asset records and prepaid expense files and run monthly depreciation and expense recognition
  • Maintain lease accounting and reporting in accordance with ASC 842
  • Maintain expense management platform for corporate cards and out-of-pocket expenses
  • Oversee the accounts payable process, coordinating with external consultants and providing support for internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage 1099 reporting process and support annual tax procedures
  • Provide support during year-end audit, aiding in preparation and pulling support files for external auditors
  • Monitor cash movement and balances across accounts, completing daily bank reconciliations across multiple bank accounts
  • Aid in building out process documentation and researching accounting/tax requirements
  • Provide support to other members of the finance team with ad-hoc projects as needed, with an eye towards process improvement
What you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance
  • 2-5 years of experience in accounting, a combination of private and public experience a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of US GAAP
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders
  • Analytical skills with very strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Ability to work within and meet deadlines while executing on multiple deliverables
  • Experience with NetSuite, Prendio or Expensify a plus
