Position: Tax Accountant
Hybrid
Job Duties:
Compute taxes owed or overpaid using adding machines or personal computers, adhering to tax form instructions and tables.
Prepare or assist in preparing simple to complex tax returns for individuals and small businesses.
Utilize adjustments, deductions, and credits to minimize clients' tax liabilities.
Conduct interviews with clients to gather necessary information on taxable income, deductible expenses, and allowances.
Review financial records such as income statements to determine the appropriate forms for tax return preparation.
Provide clients with comprehensive information and advice to ensure accurate completion of tax forms.
Consult tax law resources to determine procedures for atypical returns.
Calculate form preparation fees based on return complexity and processing time.
Perform data input checks and verify totals to identify errors in arithmetic, data entry, or procedures.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred)
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation (preferred)
Proven experience in tax accounting
Proficiency in Lacerte, AgilLink, and BigTime software
Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to effectively communicate complex tax concepts to clients
