We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper proficient in General Ledger Accounting to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and reconciling all general ledger accounts, creating monthly financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all financial documentation. This role requires advanced knowledge and specialized skills in both accrual accounting and fund basis accounting, and will report directly to the Accounting Department Manager. The Bookkeeper will work collaboratively with various internal departments including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Project Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct monthly reviews and reconciliations of the general ledger.
- Reconcile Accounts Receivable and Payable to the general ledger.
- Manage and reconcile all bank accounts and funds to appropriate general ledgers.
- Prepare and post accurate journal entries.
- Develop a consolidated fund balance sheet and revenue and expense statement.
- Communicate effectively to interpret financial reports and support documents for associations.
- Maintain precise records and files; assist with the annual audit.
- Undertake other necessary duties to maintain accurate association records.
Position Type:
After an initial training period, this position allows for a hybrid work setup with two days in the office and three days working from home. All necessary equipment will be provided.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Degree in Accounting preferred, or equivalent professional experience.
Skills and Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures, with a focus on accruals and fund accounting.
- Proficiency in relevant computer applications and data entry.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
