Location: Cedar Rapids, IA (ONSITE, DAY ONE)

Only open for local candidates or candidates within the state of Iowa willing to relocate to Cedar Rapids.

Required Licenses or Certifications

Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certification or ability to achieve it within 2 years.

Project Management Professional (PMP) or ability to achieve it within two (2) years.

Proficient in M365 Applications, Project, Visio, and SharePoint

The IT Project Manager plans, executes, and finalizes projects according to an agreed upon schedule, budget, and scope. This includes coordinating efforts of stakeholders at all levels of the organization, IT staff, business, contract staff, or vendors as appropriate. The IT Project Manager is responsible for developing project requirements, writing a project plan, and managing the project through all phases. This position is focused on providing IT project management services for the City of Cedar Rapids Utilities Department. CC&B(Customer Care & Billing) is a huge project for the city and a big revenue generating activity.

Essential duties & responsibilities

  • The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.
  • ·Develop full-scale project plans including project artifacts as appropriate to the size and scope of the project.
  • ·Identify and manage project dependencies, budgets, and critical path.
  • ·Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements, documentation, and presentations.
  • ·Work with project stakeholders to identify and manage project risks and issues, maintain risks and issue logs, and work with stakeholders on solutions or mitigation plans.
  • ·Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • ·Define project scope through collaboration with stakeholders, goals, and deliverables that support business goals.
  • ·Translate business needs into detailed business requirements and critical success factor to achieve the goals of the project and meet business needs.
  • ·Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • ·Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
  • · Performs related work as required.
  • · Work assignments will be focused on Public Utility functions within the City of Cedar Rapids to include Water, Waste Pollution Control, Garbage & Recycling, and Sewer.
  • · Representative projects may include, but not be limited to, Enterprise Reporting system upgrade, billing and finance systems upgrade, data analytics implementation, server upgrades, and security solutions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field and Five (5) years of work experience in a project management capacity including all aspects of process development and execution.· Experience developing and managing detailed Project work plan, Work Breakdown Structure, and resource allocation.· Proficiency with Microsoft Office· Ability to work collaboratively with diverse populations
