The Instructional Media Producer performs a full range of duties including: video production (with a focus on editing and some motion graphics) and graphic design and layout aimed toward teaching users how to understand and work with Appian -- either technically or conceptually. They are comfortable spending a good portion of their time editing audio and video but can easily shift into facilitating in-person and remote video recording sessions or collaborating with teammates to convey ideas through effective visual design.

Responsibilities:
Create visual content including: graphical teaching aids or technical illustrations, slide decks, and infographics.
Works within a set-range of brand guidelines and can adapt their style to align with team and company guidelines/aesthetics.
Manages, maintains, and operates company’s video production assets.
Pre-Production
Plans and performs video pre-production tasks which includes team brainstorming, assistance with storyboarding, location scouting, and talent selection.
Video Production
Produces a variety of videos for online use; occasionally plans and directs assigned studio/field productions; oversees operation of small multi-camera studio, cameras, and audio equipment; sets up and adjusts studio lighting equipment and audio equipment provides troubleshooting of video, audio and lighting equipment; performs routine equipment maintenance.
Post-Production
Performs video post-production tasks, which include reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, rough cuts, audio adjustments, color correction, and final editing.
Utilizes motion graphics and special effects for video post-production in accordance with the overall production concepts; compresses video projects for output; captures recorded video using software and encode media as appropriate; makes video products available in a variety of formats.
Must be able to work with a variety of content developers, software instructors, and SMEs to translate complex technical concepts into effective visual adaptation.
Must be flexible and willing to learn, grow and take on new projects and challenges.
Communicates regularly and effectively with individuals and groups, meets deadlines, and balances responsibilities for multiple projects at once.
Preferred Experience Level:
Basic knowledge in graphic design and visual communication
2-4 years of relevant experience in video and media production
Knowledge of computer operations including standard software applications and general knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - primarily Premiere Pro, AfterEffects, Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.
Knowledge and understanding of media production equipment- DSLRs, stabilizers, audio recorders, and lighting
Knowledge of technical software development and the software development lifecycle
Education:
B.S. in Media Productions, Film Editing, Digital Media, Applied Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, or related field/degree.
