Who you are
As the Data Science Manager for Product Growth, you will lead a team of talented data scientists and work closely with product and engineering teams to develop and execute data-driven strategies that fuel growth. You will leverage expertise in behavioral data analysis, experimental methods, and statistical modeling to optimize user adoption pathways, drive customer-focused product enhancements, uncover actionable insights and experimentation opportunities that will produce significant revenue growth for our business on both short-term and long-term horizons.
Your impact
Act as a strategic partner to Product Leaders
Own the growth and execution of Data Science & Analytics for our product, in-line with the product development strategy.
Develop and attribute product led growth experimentation in multiple marketplaces across our Product while assessing risk.
Partner with the Business Data Science and Product Data Science leadership to shape a cohesive and holistic product data strategy.
Facilitate automated creation of reports, dashboards, and interactive tools that provide accurate, actionable data for product leaders to run their businesses.
Lead the effort to optimize product adoption via opportunity identification and experimentation throughout User Behavior, Resident and Payments.
Guide our user behavior analysis strategy, to surface key areas for improvement of our product.
Ensure the identification of opportunities for profitable growth through exploratory and directed analysis, across our product Domains.
Deploy robust product experimentation to optimize adoption across our product.
Manage and develop key growth-focused data talent
Coach data analysts & scientists to deeply understand the products they support, enabling them to become trusted advisors.
Provide guidance and support in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling techniques.
Support individual growth in both soft skills and technical expertise.
Develop prioritization processes for your team to provide clear guidance on prioritization to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Advanced Business Acumen: Has a deep understanding of how businesses work and is knowledgeable in SaaS vertical practices, trends, and technology. Applies the right financial, customer, and product metrics to measure product performance
Cross-Functional Knowledge: Navigates across verticals and functions and understands how each department contributes to our mission
Coaching / Ability to develop people: Coaches people in their current roles to improve performance and prepares them for future growth, proactively instilling perspective when necessary to ensure employee engagement
Data Analytics skills – Adept at cleaning, transforming, and shaping data
Communication - Able to effectively communicate what we are doing and why we are doing it / Excellent communication with intuitive ability to adjust messages for the audience. Able to bring clarity from often ambiguous circumstances and provide clear communication regarding our strategy (what we are doing, and why)
Detail-Oriented - Isn’t easily distracted, does not let important details slip through the cracks or derail a project
Proactivity - Acts without being told what to do. Brings new ideas to the table with a plan for how best to implement
Priority Setting/Prioritization: Can quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal. Grounds prioritization in ROI of business outcomes
Must-Haves
Strong mathematics, statistics, analytical and problem-solving skills
2 years in a lead or management role with responsibility for a team
5 years of work experience in a Data team including statistical software (e.g. R, Python) and database languages (e.g. SQL - Snowflake preferred).
2 Product Analytics experience
Data Visualization: Streamlit, Tableau, (Looker, PowerBI)
Nice to have
(These are supplemental - a passion and interest in learning these skills still make a great candidate!)
Experience with DBT
Proficient in Python - for data transformation, data visualization and/or automation
Experience creating and presenting financial forecasts to finance & product leaders
Working knowledge of Salesforce
Experience in one or any of the following:
DTC digital products
Insurance industry
Payments industry
Product Experimentation
B2B SaaS
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary/hourly wage that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $148,000-$222,000
The actual base salary/hourly wage for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc.
Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
