Summary Description:Based at the Appalachian Mountain Club’s (AMC) Highland Center Lodge inCrawford Notch, Bretton Woods NH, the Food Service Staff position isresponsible for the preparation and delivery of all meals for the generalpublic, overnight guests and program participants at this destination. Inaddition, this position maintains all aspects of sanitation and cleanlinesspertaining to food service areas to exceed New Hampshire Board of HealthStandards. These areas include, but are not limited to, the kitchen, walk-inrefrigerators, dining room, kitchen storehouses, recycling shed, crew room anddumpster area.

The position offers a competitive salary andseasonal employee benefits. This is a full-time, seasonal, hourlyposition that requires nights, weekends and holiday shifts. The positionreports to the Food & Beverage Manager.

Onsite Staff dormitory-style housing, with allmeals, is available for seasonal employees at the Highland Center Lodge. The Food Service Staff position is an active member of the kitchen team andcontributes to the overall success of the Highland Center’s operation.

Primary Responsibilities:• Provide excellent customer service to guests and visitorsduring all three meals.
• Service customers entering the Dining Room and approachingthe Snack Bar.
• Maintain a presence in the Dining Room during all threemeals.
• Clean, sanitize and inspect all areas maintained by theKitchen Crew on a daily basis and as needed to exceed the New Hampshire Boardof Health standards.
• Daily - Snack Bar upkeep, prep work, and service duringlunch service.
• Responsible for operating a cash register during lunchservice.
• Provide beer and wine service to the guests at the HighlandCenter.
• Support the on duty Cook with preparing the daily meals.
• Assist in preparation and set up of coffee breaks.
• Maintain a positive proactive attitude and interact withguests and staff in a positive manner.
• Lead or assist in the delivery of guided site tours,“Dinner Talks”, and evening programs including greeting and orientation toHighland Center opportunities and AMC facilities as required.
• Attend scheduled kitchen crew meetings and front-linetraining sessions even outside the normal schedule.
• Keep up-to-date on AMC programs and activities as well asgeneral kitchen information by reading the FYI board when necessary.
• Other duties as assigned by the Highland Center Managementstaff.
• Assist other departments as needed including the FrontDesk, Housekeeping and Custodial.

Qualifications and Experience:• Kitchen and or cooking and sanitation experiencerecommended.
• Customer service experience recommended.
• Flexibility with regard to schedule is required.
• Knowledge of the White Mountain National Forest area isdesirable.
• Desire to be a team player.

Physical Requirements:• Ability to lift up to 60 pounds from floor to chest heightfor extended periods of time.
• Stand, walk, sit, move freely and climb stairs unassistedfor extended periods of time.
• Ability to climb multiple levels of stairs repeatedly,bending, twisting and reaching motions.
• Ability to safely use step ladders, cleaning equipment andhand carts.
