Pay for Locals: $50/hr on W2 to $54/hr on W2

Pay for travellers: Travel Pay: $70/hr

$35/hr on W2 $1260(Weekly non taxable stipend)

Job Summary:
As a member of the medical-surgical nursing team, the Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical and surgical conditions. Working collaboratively with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and support staff, the RN assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient care to ensure optimal outcomes.

Job Description:
Scope of Practice:

• The RN is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient where assigned
• Planning the nursing care needed, including spiritual, emotional and physiological needs. Once planned, the RN is responsible for seeing that the plan of care is carried out through performance and or leadership of supervised personnel and that the plan of care is evaluated
• The RN is directly accountable to the Nurse Manager for the quality of patient care delivered
• The RN modifies and delivers care that is specific to the age, growth and development of patients according to the unit scope of services

Responsibilities:

• Patient Assessment and Care Planning:
• Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' health status, including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
• Develop individualized care plans based on the assessment data, incorporating patients' preferences, medical history, and treatment goals.
• Continuously reassess patients' conditions and modify care plans as necessary to promote recovery and prevent complications.
• Medication Administration and Treatment:
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, adhering to medication safety protocols and verifying medication orders.
• Monitor patients' responses to medications and treatments, assessing for adverse reactions and therapeutic effectiveness.
• Provide patient education regarding medications, treatment plans, and self-care strategies to promote health and wellness.
• Patient Monitoring and Advocacy:
• Monitor patients' vital signs, laboratory values, and overall clinical status, recognizing and promptly responding to changes in condition.
• Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, ensuring their rights are respected and their concerns are addressed by the healthcare team.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care, facilitate transitions, and promote continuity of care for patients.
• Documentation and Communication:
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team, providing updates on patients' progress, care plans, and discharge instructions.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, shift handoffs, and team meetings to exchange information and coordinate care effectively.
• Quality Improvement and Professional Development:
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice projects to enhance patient outcomes and promote a culture of safety.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through continuing education, certification programs, and participation in nursing organizations.
• Adhere to ethical and legal standards of nursing practice, maintaining confidentiality and upholding patients' rights and dignity.

Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of New York.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Minimum of [X years] of experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred.
