Aperion Care is Hiring a Part-time Infant Teacher Near Northbridge, MA

AdviniaCare is seeking a skilled Part-time Infant Teacher to join the talented staff. Hours are M-F 7AM - 11:30 AM or M-F 2:30PM - 5:30PM. We are an equal-opportunity employer.

The teacher will be responsible for assisting the lead teacher in the general supervision and management in a class of young children. In the lead teacher’s absence, will be responsible for the operation of the classroom. The Assist in planning and implementing the daily program under the lead teacher’s direction

 QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum requirements based on DEEC regulations
  • Completion of First Aid and CPR is required
  • A nurturing, patient, mature, organized, calm manner able to deal with a variety of personalities and situations with children, families, and staff
  • Ability to work with at-risk and children with special needs, including using appropriate behavior management
  • A knowledge of DEEC regulations and standards
  • A comprehensive knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum
  • Ability to interact effectively with children, demonstrating effective ways to communicate with children
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and squat
  • Ability to push/pull objects and lift/carry up to 20 pounds unassisted (occasionally up to 40 pounds unassisted)
  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies
  • Must be able to speak the English language in an understandable manner
  • Must possess sight/hearing senses or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of this position can be fully met
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability
  • Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, elderly, emotionally upset, and, at times, hostile people within the facility

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists in the supervision and nurturing of the children
  • Reports any observations or concerns about individual children to the lead teacher
  • Treats all children with dignity and respect
  • Assists the lead teacher in creating a developmentally appropriate program, classroom environment, and curriculum consistent with stated goals, objectives, policies, and philosophy of the Center, as outlined in the Parent Handbook
  • Assists in keeping the classroom supplies and equipment clean, organized, and well maintained
  • Attends monthly staff meetings and necessary training/workshops as required by the DEEC
  • Carries out all Center policies and procedures as outlined in the Staff Handbook, Parent Handbook, and Health Care Policy
  • Maintains all DEEC stated standards and regulations
  • Participates in annual evaluations of self and Center program
  • Works cooperatively to create an environment that is rich in possibilities for exploring gender, race/ethnicity, and different abilities
  • Refer to the NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct and Statement of Commitment for guidelines of responsible behavior in early childhood education
  • Serves as an appropriate role model for assistants and other teachers
  • Assumes responsibility for classroom when the Lead Teacher is out of the room
  • Completes tasks and acts upon suggestions as delegated by the Lead Teacher
  • Assist with intergenerational activities
  • Help with general housekeeping tasks
  • Work cooperatively with staff members and parents
  • Maintain professional attitudes and loyalty of AdviniaCare Early Education Center
