Position Description:
JOB SUMMARY
The Program Manager is primarily responsible for client relationships and all aspects of proper work execution for clients within the Program portfolio.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
  • Responsible for the proper execution of all projects within the client portfolio.
    • Reviews and approves all project plans and budgets created by Project Leaders to ensure compliance with standard practices and business requirements.
    • Reviews and approves total installed cost estimates prepared by the estimating group.
    • Maintains access to client requirements and methods.
    • Develops and maintains program requirements and methods.
    • Ensures all project scope, execution strategies, and directions from the client are documented.
    • Evaluates Program effectiveness and prepares reports for review with clients on a monthly and quarterly basis.
    • Responsible for delivering all work milestones on time and on budget and works closely with Project Leaders to ensure change orders are secured when significant updates have occurred. Prevents the team from working on unapproved changes.
    • Ensures funding is approved before initiating or continuing any work (including primary project funding and Change Notice funding). Ensures all Project Leaders do not exceed authorized funding limit of his/her project.
    • Ensures all work is invoiced on a timely basis, works closely with billing team to quickly resolve all billing issues, and works directly with clients to resolve billing challenges.
    • Leads business development activities within the program to meet annual targets and grow revenue year over year.
    • Manages Non-Reimbursable Billing (NRB) to meet or beat annual Plan.
    • Identifies, manages, and regularly reports to leadership on special/high impact projects and on overall Program activities.
  • Maintains and develops excellent client relationships.
    • Serves as the primary client contact/sponsor.
    • Responsible for anticipating new client opportunities and for positioning Anvil for those opportunities.
    • Responsible for developing new work with all groups within the client organization.
    • Achieves highest level of client satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management. Occasionally travels to client sites for meetings with clients or site-based Anvil personnel.
  • Provides monthly forecast updates of revenue and manhours, and updates when significant changes occur. Provides input to annual planning process.
  • Works closely with the Director of Technical Resources and Resource Managers to identify staffing and resource needs.
    • Supports company strategy to optimize work-sharing and to employ GES resources.
  • Leads, mentors, and develops team members to enable superior performance and ensure all work product and behaviors align with Anvils culture, Code of Ethics, and quality standards.
    • Promotes safety in all activities and project designs.
    • Advocates innovation and quality in all designs.
    • Ensures all program activities are performed safely (0 LTI, 0 Recordables).
    • Monitors and ensures compliance with the Anvil Project Services Quality Systems (PSQS) requirements.
  • Mentors Project Leads and Work Group Leads.
    • Mentors Project Leaders and Work Group Leads within the program, provides guidance and mentorship.
    • Manages and assigns work among assigned Project Leaders.
    • Coordinates with Project Management Resource Manager, as required, to manage/level workload.
    • Notifies the Manager of Engineering, Director of Technical Resources, and Manager of Quality of all negative and positive quality issues.
    • In coordination with assigned Project Leaders, manages assigned Work Group Leads ensures continuous feedback is provided in a timely manner and either directly addresses or escalates any performance issues/concerns directly to appropriate Resource Manager.
  • Represents Anvil in the office and the community.
  • Leads selected projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
    • Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline required; MBA preferred.
    • 10 years of related engineering experience required.
    • Professional Engineering license preferred.
    • Project Leader experience preferred.
    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
    • Able to sit/stand, type, and perform computer work for long periods of time.
    • Frequent use of hands/fingers for computer entry.
    • Able to perform occasional bending, lifting, and reaching.
