School Social Worker Responsibilities:
- Provide school-based counseling services to children with IEPs and Gen Ed/consult as needed
- Conduct services in individual and/or group settings based on student’s needs
- Create a safe and welcoming environment for students to encourage social, emotional, and educational growth
- Serve as a member of the crisis team and MTSS team
- Develop methods of tracking the effectiveness of behavior support plans through the analysis of behavioral data and make changes to the plan as necessary
- Lead development of Functional Behavior Assessments and implementation of Positive Behavior Support Plans
- Serve as a member of the Child Study Process, Child Screening Committees, and/or similar groups to screen and assess students experiencing school-related problems and to improve existing school programs and procedures in meeting the educational needs of students.
- Promote family support of students' learning experience within the context of multicultural understanding and competencies
- Offer staff training, modeling, and support on issues related to social-emotional-environmental factors that impact learning and interventions
- Other duties as assigned
- Master's Degree in Social Work
- Must possess or be in process for S310 form- Approval to work in MI schools
- Previous school social work experience is preferred
- Experience evaluating students with a variety of disabilities
