Job Summary To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a/an Production Supervisor - Switchgear located in Henrico, VA Reporting to the Production Manager the Production Supervisor - Switchgear will be responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the work activities and resources necessary for manufacturing on their assigned product line, to include providing direct supervision and overseeing workflow, scheduling staff to meet organizational needs, ensuring quality control and process improvement, and creating a safe workplace. What a typical day looks like: Supporting the Production management team in project planning and execution Ensuring Anord Mardix products are manufactured efficiently, effectively and to required deadlines Reporting any additional production requests and costs to the Production Manager Completes daily production meetings, review safety, quality and production issues with their teams Provides supervision and leadership to ensure production goals are met Confer with technical or administrative staff to resolve production problems. Identify safety, quality and production related issues, assists with root cause analysis and employ validate agreed corrective actions. Identifies and develops subordinate leadership within the department. Prepares and maintains production reports. Ensures assigned employees adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and perform work practices that are safe. Supporting the recruitment and appraisal processes for production employees Manage production employees to ensure standards and quality of work are met and maintained Manage team attendance effectively, including holidays, absences, to ensure production is not disrupted Manage teamwork output and make adjustments as required to meet goals Use continuous improvement processes to increase 'right first time' and to reduce cost and waste Improvement of workplace organization and housekeeping Assist with training and mentoring of Team Leaders and production employees Ensuring all site requirements are addressed and completed Complete Performance Management Process for assigned team members.. The experience we’re looking to add to our team, Ability to organize workload and take initiative to solve problems Confident under pressure and able to handle multifaceted objectives Efficient with thorough methods of working Typically requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience related to production and manufacturing, or 5 years of manufacturing management experience 3 years of management experience Knowledge of principles and process for providing supervision and leadership with considerable experience supervising, managing and motivating employees in a manufacturing setting. Strong technical understanding of set up and maintenance of manufacturing processes, experience in validation, and Lean Manufacturing. Familiarity with the development and implementation of work instructions. Proven ability to work on own initiative, problem solve and present potential solutions. A clear focus, understanding and desire to drive improvement across Safety, Quality and Production. Ability to collaborate, create excellent working relationships and generate high levels of engagement with internal and external teams. Excellent communication skills, follow verbal instructions, and use mathematics.
