We are looking for a FOH Supervisor to step into a leadership position in a fast casual coffee shop, cafe, and ice cream shop. This role will require shift work as a barista with some managerial tasks such as ordering, curating specials, and working with general manager to manage the staff. Barista tasks include preparing and serving hot and cold beverages, including various types of coffee and tea, as well as some light baking. Other responsibilities include educating customers on our drinks menu, making recommendations based on their preferences, up-selling special items, and taking orders. To be successful in this role, you should have communication, leadership, and customer service skills. You should be able to work various shifts; weekday morning availability is REQUIRED. Note: this position’s compensation includes wage and tips.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the front-of-house; supervise employees and work with the general manager to innovate procedures and improve workflow
• Curate specialty drinks and ice creams
• Greet customers as they enter
• Give customers drink menus and answer questions regarding items offered
• Take orders while paying attention to details (e.g. preferences of coffee blend, dairy and sugar ratios)
• Prepare beverages and food items following recipes
• Serve beverages and prepared food, like cookies, pastries, muffins, and ice cream
• Receive and process payments (cash and credit cards)
• Keep the restaurant/cafe clean
• Maintain stock of clean equipment
• Ensure brewing equipment operates properly and report any maintenance needs
• Comply with health and safety regulations
• Communicate customer feedback and recommend new menu items

Skills

• Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress
• Prefer hands-on experience with brewing equipment
• Flexibility to work various shifts
• Ability to gauge customers’ preferences
• Excellent communication skills
• High school diploma; relevant training is a plus

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
