Location: Jamestown, NDShift: Monday - Friday 3:00pm - 8:00pmJob Schedule: Part TimeWeekly Hours: 24JOB SUMMARY:The Medical Service Specialist performs clerical, record keeping, receptionist, and support duties within Nursing Services to assist staff in carrying out their duties/functions. This position will assist with Direct Support Professional duties as requested; Provide assistance to the Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager within Home Life Services as needed.QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements):Education and/or years’ experience required:High School Diploma or EquivalentMinimum 6 months experience in the healthcare field with general medical terminology knowledge. Minimum six months use of office equipment as used in a medical setting Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:CNA/DD CertifiedPrefer a year experience with Health Information Management (HIM), but not required. Proficient in computer software, (i.e. Microsoft word, Microsoft excel, electronic health records). Ability to decipher handwriting, maintain records accurately and with legible handwriting, familiar with medical technology, and have visual and auditory abilities to perform his/her functions.Ability to follow instructions, both verbal and written as well as have effective oral and written communication skills and ability to organize and prioritize work with various interruptions. Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills; having integrity, being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts.
