Location: Jamestown, NDShift: Job Schedule: Full TimeWeekly Hours: 40JOB SUMMARYThe Direct Support Professional position is responsible to perform supervised tasks related to delivery of health and personal cares, therapeutic, educational, behavioral, recreational, and leisure activities for the children/young adults at ACC, contributing to the overall ISP/IEP, positive behavior support plan, and nursing care plan. This position will also assume the responsibility to train new staff to care for the clients following ACC guidelines, client specific plans and teaching strategies.QUALIFICATIONS (minimum requirements)Education and/or years’ experience required:H.S. Diploma or equivalent Minimum two years’ experience in health care field, preferably working with those with disabilities Preferred/Required Skills and Abilities:Ability to learn and perform personal cares, education and therapeutic programs, and can learn and comprehend medical terminology. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing; can follow verbal and written instructions, and problem solve effectively with clients, staff, family members, and community businesses. Ability to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills, being tactful, courteous, and diplomatic with internal and external contacts. Ability to adapt to rapid change, and must be able to intervene promptly in crisis/emergency situations.
