Do you have an outgoing personality, and love working with and leading people? Ten Thousand Villages in Ann Arbor is hiring an Assistant Manager.
We are a non-profit, fair trade store. We are dedicated to providing a living wage for artisans around the world by selling their handicrafts, telling their stories, and educating locally about fair trade.
Job duties include but are not limited to: Customer service, cashiering, and opening and closing the store; scheduling and coaching volunteers; maintaining an attractive storefront including visual merchandising, and monitoring inventory and supplies levels; assisting with meetings and in-store events, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications include:
· Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
· 2-3 years’ retail experience and demonstration of excellent customer service
· Daytime, evening, and weekend availability
· Experience with a register system and handling cash
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
· Ability, for up to 6-8 hours daily, to stand, sit, walk, talk, kneel, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds
