Job Title:Internal Medicine Team LeadJob Summary:Provide leadership in daily operations of the practice. Responsible for administration of business, financial andclinical functions of the practice. This position is part of the leadership team at Animas Surgical Hospital andworks closely with various stakeholders to effectively manage our outpatient clinic. Demonstrates criticalthinking skills, ability to provide and delegate activities to staff based on operational need to deliver care in asafe and efficient manner while maximizing positive patient outcomes. Assists in the development andmaintenance of physician and community relations to further the delivery of quality patient care.Reports to:Director Business OfficeEssential Job Functions1.Registrationsa.Responsible for training and accuracy management of the registrations process for clinic staff.b.Clinic scheduling management.c.Accuracy of insurance information in the system and the insurance verification process.d.Provides and assists with computer and software training.2.Customer Servicea.Responsible for training and management of customer services processes.b.Appropriately orients and competencies all Internal Medicine Staff Members within allowedtimeframes.c.Assists team with customer service issues.d.Regular education and improvement of the customer experience.e.Ensures consistent delivery of high-value, quality care to all patient populations served.f.Collaborates and communicates effectively and cooperatively with other departments, offices,agencies, and business partners to facilitate the functions of the department and the hospital.g.Maintains community through and resources to ensure patient access to clinic services.3.Staffinga.Establishes work priorities and assists staff in resolving operational obstacles.b.Holds regular monthly staff meetings with the Internal Medicine Team.c.Holds individual rounding at minimum monthly with Internal Medicine Staff Members.d.Responsible for staffing plan and monthly schedulese.Conducts payroll and appropriately manages hospital resources including but not limited toovertime and shift differential.f.Assists in policy development, staff education on policy and procedure and policy enforcement.g.Promote team atmosphere through implementation of Animas Surgical Hospital core values.4.Financial Responsibilitiesa.Identifies and implements cost savings and best practices using various improvement methodsand concepts.b.Oversight of the authorization and benefits processc.Provides education on financial policy and procedure along with updated insurance education.d.Coordinates with financial teams and billing office to communicate effectively with patients andreferring offices.e.Performs regular chart and charge audits.f.Works closely with billing office while providing coding feedback to providers.g.Referral and authorization management for incoming and outgoing patient referralsh.Collaborates and engages with Western Health Care Alliance for ACO participation.5.Quality and Performance Improvementa.Implements and adheres to policies and procedures, applicable regulatory standards, laws, andregulations.b.Participates in performance improvement activities which include collecting and analyzing datato identify quantifiable measures to maintain quality and the promotion of desired outcomes.c.Effective problem solving for scheduling, registrations, and finical issues.d.Leads and is responsible to ensure clinic-based teams meet and/or exceed hospital standardsfor patient experience and customer satisfaction.e.Participates in 80% of appropriate organizational meetings and trainings.6.Demonstrates the spirit of the philosophy, mission, and values of the hospital through words andactions and implements them into departmental processes, programs, and the working environment.a.Applies the principles and values of customer service and continuous quality improvement whileperforming day to day activities of the position.b.Maintains and protects confidentiality regarding all aspects of patient care, personnel, andstrategic issues. Stooping, kneeling,crouching, reaching, grasping, handling, and balancing five (5) or more hours per day. Sensory andcommunicative activities including: hearing, seeing, and speaking to be able to carry out essential jobfunctions.Working Conditions/Environmental ExposuresNormal office environment. Hazards are minimal if safety precautions are taken. Protective clothing/equipmentnormally not necessary.Salary $22.00-$38.00
