Animal Rescue Rhode Island is Hiring a Marketing Associate Near Wakefield, RI

Do you have crazy good marketing and writing skills? Are you a social media rock star who’s proficient in creating graphics? Are you ready to combine your passion for animals and your skills in marketing to help save the lives of homeless pets?

Animal Rescue Rhode Island (“ARRI”) in South Kingstown, RI, is in its 86th year of bringing families and best friends together. We have a great team focused on saving lives!

At ARRI, you’ll play a critical role by managing all social media and marketing endeavors, assisting with all fundraisers, and ensuring all donors have an exceptional experience with us.

Wearing a marketing hat, you’ll:

  • · Manage strategy and content for all social media
  • · Apply expertise in various marketing activities (content development & optimization, advertising, event planning etc.)
  • · Develop and improve website content
  • · Promote and track media coverage
  • · Create marketing materials and the annual report
  • · Create, update, and maintain press kits and media materials
  • · Prepare materials for donor meetings
  • · Draft donor communications and monthly press releases
  • · Participate in donor appeals’ planning and mailings
  • · Assist in the review of various donor listings, reports, and mailings for accuracy

Supporting development, you’ll:

  • Assist in gift processing, including pledges, stocks and bequests, and planning
  • Provide support for all events
  • Maintain relationships with donors and shelter partners
  • Research grants, assisting in writing proposals, tracking deadlines, and maintain grant database
  • Solicit for In-kind gifts
  • Perform research and contribute to strategies for individual and corporate prospects

Candidate Profile

Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Business, Psychology, or Communications, or equivalent experience, and a minimum of 2 years in marketing, fundraising or other relevant experience. Understands and adheres to Non-Profit Best Practices and values donor and organization confidentiality.

· Excellent computer skills, including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Apps, Fundraising CRM (experience with Bloomerang or similar CRM database preferred), Create Suite, Canva, InDesign and Photoshop.

· Experience in online and virtual fundraising initiatives including social media giving

· Extraordinary people skills and exceptional communication and time management skills

· Excellent written and verbal communications skills

· Skilled at editing correspondence and printed material

· Self-motivated; able to work independently and take initiative

· Adept at problem solving; dependable, flexible, and punctual

· Works well within a team and small office environment

· Manages competing demands; able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events

· Can work in a fast-paced setting with ease, is team oriented, and meets target goals and deadlines
