Seeking an industry career-minded Mountain Sport enthusiast who will assist the Patrol Director in managing an exceptional Ski Patrol program. In this role, a successful candidate:
  • Assists Director in developing a team of employees that values hard work, attention to detail, risk management, documentation, and customer service
  • Trains, coaches, and gives feedback to Patrol staff so that the team achieves professional operation and risk management while prioritizing safe work practices and properly caring for equipment.
  • Owns responsibility of ensuring operations are in line with NSP standards and other industry best practices
  • Effectively partners with other Departments (Grooming, Snowmaking, Marketing, Lift Operations, etc.) to create an environment where everyone supports each other in achieving success.
  • Is a Resort Ambassador, displaying an inspirational and unrelenting enthusiasm for positivity, maturity, dependability and professionalism.
Base Pay: Biweekly salary depends on experience and qualifications

Attendance: Regular, predictable, punctual, and in-person attendance is essential, includes weekends and holidays as scheduled

Typical Shift: This position requires scheduling flexibility-and the ability to work weekends, holidays and other peak times as required by demands of the business.
Environment: This is an outdoor/indoor position. You will mainly be working outside in varied weather. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and regularly lift/carry 50lbs. But you will also be taking care of business at a desk.
Qualifications: Driver’s License. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other necessary computer software. Ability to Ski/Snowboard in any environment.
Housing: Limited employee housing is available upon request. “Dorm-style” starts at only $450/month. Other options available. A list of local rental resources is also available upon request.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 6-20 patrollers and First Aid Attendants.
Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and at least three years of management experience; and at least 5 years Ski Patrol experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Develops, implements, and manages employee training programs to ensure that employees are trained properly and follow all procedures at all times.
  • Assists the Patrol Director in ensuring that patrollers follow all policies and procedures established by Angel Fire Resort, Medical Control Director, National Ski Patrol and New Mexico State Emergency Medical Services Bureau.
  • Manages department budget to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
  • Works with the patrol to manage programs promoting skier safety while maximizing the efficiency and productivity of Ski Patrol employees
  • Assist in all Administrative duties including payroll, staffing and schedules.
  • Assists the Patrol Director in creating the weekly schedule for day, night, and tubing operations.
  • Assists the Patrol Director in implementing the training program and ensuring that Patroller 2’s, and 3’s lead the required number of trainings.
  • Works with FA-1 staff to ensure that patrol and FA-1 work together smoothly.
