Job Type: Full Time

Hourly Rate: $21.00

The Recreational Leader is responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating a wide variety of recreational programs for residents and patients; to facilitate functional progress and emotional support within the Community Life Department.

Job Description:

  • Evaluate and assess residents and patients and document the need for therapeutic recreational interventions in order to attain goals and plan of care.
  • Provide recreational therapeutic activity programs to residents and patients including but not limited to Arts and crafts, games, dance, movements and music to improve and maintain the physical, mental and emotional well-being or residents.
  • Document therapeutic interventions and maintain necessary records.
  • Analyze and report behavioral patterns.
  • Participate in team meetings and family care plan meetings.
  • Monitor departments equipment and supplies.
  • Assists with training and supervision of therapeutic recreation students and volunteers.
  • Performs other related duties.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field is preferred
  • Knowledge of recreational therapy practices, methods and techniques
  • Ability to interpret, assess and write functional outcome goals
  • One year experience in Recreational Therapy, Art Therapy or Occupational Therapy is required.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential! Patience and strong interpersonal skills to inspire trust and respect in their residents.
  • Must be fully Covid vaccinated.
