The System Engineer will report to the Director of IT, Infrastructure and support the Engineering staff. The System Engineer is responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and operation of Andrews Federal Credit Union’s servers, desktops, and overall on-premise and cloud Microsoft infrastructures. We’ll be looking to leverage some of Microsoft 365 (M365) tools such as Power BI, Teams, and tenant-based licensing of Microsoft Applications to modernize older systems into the “best of breed” technology.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

The position’s essential duties include the following:

• Work with Cyber Security Team to further enhance the security protections and practices within our environment. Partners with the Cyber Security Team in multiple aspects of this work and participates in audit remediation processes, as required.
• Work with Data Governance team to manage existing and future data.
• Assume M365 product and third-party application patching responsibilities.
• Works with the Director of Infrastructure and Sr. Systems Engineer on the Microsoft strategy.
• We are seeking an industry expert in PowerShell, developing and maintaining a library of PowerShell scripts to automate repetitive tasks is important to this role
• Act as the global administrator and subject matter expert for all things M365.
• Develop governance models regarding Intune, Teams, Exchange Online, and SharePoint.
• Works closely with the Application Development Team to assist with all automation projects including creating PowerShell scripts to automate common tasks.
• Maintain Microsoft Azure Active Directory, and M365 applications in conjunction with on premise Windows Active Directory.
• Responsible for the day-to-day administration of M365.
• Perform implementation tasks, related to M365 and other cloud applications, including: configuration, integration, and roll-outs.
• Develop and document repeatable standardized procedures, and strictly adhere to existing procedures.
• Showcase to users and managers the possibilities of M365, and technology in general.
• Guide users during the roll-out of new tools and technologies.
• Stay up to date on technologies related to his/her responsibilities and act as an in-house expert on cloud applications. Act as an escalation point in his/her area of expertise.
• Facilitates day-to-day operations activities such as system upgrades, third-party patching, configuration audits, capacity planning, and performance analysis.
• Participates in on-call rotation as scheduled and directed by the Infrastructure Director.

EDUCATION

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree (engineering or information systems related field). Solid on-the-job experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

LENGTH OF REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• 5-7 years of hands-on Microsoft engineering including Exchange experience

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 3 years of solid experience in Microsoft 365 support, administration, and implementation.
• Desirable certifications: Microsoft – MCDST, MCTS, MCITP, MCSA, MCSE
• Implementation and strong enterprise support experience with the following technologies:
  • Active Directory and Group Policy Management
  • MS Exchange/MS Teams – unified communications
  • Microsoft 365 administration
  • Windows Server 2016 and above
  • Patch Management
  • Scripting (e.g. MS PowerShell scripting is a plus)
  • Enterprise systems application deployment and management
  • Network Monitoring Performance Tools (Solarwinds preferred)
  • Knowledge of Authentication, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and Conditional Access Policies
  • Remote Administration Tools
• Ability and willingness to work alone, and irregular hours and days.
• Ability to work with individuals of all levels and varying technical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
